Protecting Sea Turtles, Preserving the Ocean
Bulih Bali Turtle Conservation was founded in January 2025 as an expansion of the turtle sanctuary on Pudut Island, Nusa Dua. This initiative was born from a deep sense of urgency—an awareness that sea turtles, one of the ocean’s most ancient and graceful creatures, were disappearing at an alarming rate. The balance of marine life was shifting, and without intervention, these gentle beings could fade into history.
The idea for Bulih Bali came from the heartbreaking stories shared by local fishermen who often found turtles entangled in their fishing nets, struggling for breath. Others were discovered weak and covered in parasites, their once-strong shells now brittle and fragile. Many had ingested plastic, mistaking it for food, a tragic reminder of the growing pollution in our oceans. These encounters were not just isolated incidents; they were desperate cries for help. It became clear that something had to be done.
What started as a simple rescue effort quickly transformed into a full-fledged conservation movement. Bulih Bali Turtle Conservation was built to offer these turtles a second chance at life. Here, injured and sick turtles receive medical care, nourishment, and a safe environment to recover before they are strong enough to return to the wild. Every turtle we save is a step towards restoring balance to the ocean, and every story of survival fuels our unwavering commitment to this mission.

Through our conservation efforts, we rescue injured and stranded turtles, provide medical care, and rehabilitate them before returning them to their natural habitat. Our team works closely with the Bali Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) and local communities to enhance awareness and encourage sustainable practices.
We also organize educational programs, beach clean-ups, and turtle hatchling releases, inviting locals and visitors alike to participate in preserving our marine biodiversity.
